Empties #8

I’m going to be going through my rubbish today!! That’s exactly what it feels like anyway! I always hang onto empty products for posts like these because it gives me a chance to quickly and easily give you my personal review on lots of products. I can also keep track of what I use up a lot and what my favourites are. Today I have a big range of different products so let’s go ahead and get into it. Items with a * were gifted!

1. Clarins Hydra-Essential Cream: This face cream is super lightweight in texture and is very refreshing. I really like this before makeup as it moisturises but doesn’t take ages to settle on the skin. 9/10.
2. Mineral Essentials Micellar Water: This was fantastic for removing makeup and I would definitely purchase again. I haven’t seen this brand many places so I will be on the lookout as it’s very effective. 9/10
3. Drunk Elephant Beste Jelly Cleanser: Honestly, I wasn’t the biggest fan of this. I think I paid about £18 for this in TkMaxx and even then it’s expensive for a cleanser but I really wanted to try the brand. It didn’t really do anything for me, it smelled quite soapy and just didn’t impress me at all. The packaging is also a bit dodgy as too much comes out at once from the screw top. 3/10
4. *PIXI Glow Tonic: I’ve reviewed this before so I’ll keep it brief! It’s one of my favourites ever! 9/10 5. Nip + Fab Cleansing Pads: These are very refreshing and make skin feel smoother and hydrated. I use these as an extra step before makeup to prep the skin and I really like them. They can be a bit pricey for pads but they last a long time for sure. 9/10
1. Maybelline Fit Me Matte and Poreless foundation: This foundation is so popular but I just don’t think it’s good for my skin type. I have dry skin and I never got on with this very well but the coverage and shade range is very good. 5/10
2. Laura Geller Spackle in Champagne: This is nice but takes so long to use up that it’s gone off! Gives a nice glow to the skin though. 7/10
3. Beauty Bakerie Flour Powder in Yellow: I loved this powder so much! It really kept my makeup on and prevented oil pretty well. 8/10
1. Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil: Used this before, a classic favourite! 8/10
2. Makeup Obsession Brow Goals: This was quite a hard pencil and I wasn’t a huge fan of the packaging but for the price it’s pretty good for definition and wear. 7/10
3. MUA Brow Pencil: Two of these used up! AMAZING for £2 and comparable to higher end products. 8/10
4. Benefit Gimmie Brow: Again, a huge favourite of mine. So easy to use and always works perfectly. 9/10
5. ABH Brow Wiz Gel in Soft Brown: This was actually really nice! Only thing is it dries up a little fast but great for your makeup bag. 8/10
6. MILK Makeup Kush Brow Gel: This is probably one of my favourite products ever! I need to repurchase this because I loved it and it lasts forever, definitely a new staple. 9/10
1. Maybelline Lash Sensational: This is such a great mascara and I really need to get it again. It’s affordable and perfect for everyday use. The brush is also the perfect shape. 9/10
2. Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes: I love the design of this mascara from the brush to the packaging but I wish it was a tiny bit thicker. However it is a great everyday mascara for defintion. 7/10
3. Makeup Forever Excessive Lash: This is a great texture but does tend to flake on me without a lash primer which is unfortunate. 6/10
4. Too Faced Better Than Sex: First time trying this and it’s a new favourite! I like the brush a lot. 8/1
1. Clarins Lip Oil: This product is fantastic and I love using it when my lips are feeling super dehydrated. I seriously need to get another one because it’s just perfect. 9/10
2. Jouer Lip Creme in Terra: I bought this because of Nikkie Tutorials and I really did enjoy it for a time! I haven’t heard much about Jouer recently as a matter of fact. This is a typical liquid lip and I find it a tiny bit drying but nice colour. 8/10
3. Rituals Cherry Blossom Perfume: This is a gorgeous fresh floral scent and I loved wearing it in the summer. It’s long lasting too! 9/10

Review: What a Drag! 301 Submissive Lashes

So if you’re a fan of Drag or RuPaul’s Drag race, I’m sure you have heard of 301 Lashes. This iconic style is favoured for the intense, long and voluminous look that these false lashes provide. What A Drag is a UK based company with their own style of 301 Lashes. I saw these whilst looking for 301’s and I decided to purchase them. They cost £4.99 making them very affordable! You can also have new pairs sent monthly if required!

Here are the Lashes in the box and on the eyes! The packaging is beautiful and very well made, making the lashes feel very luxurious. These are surprisingly easy to apply considering how long they are! The trick is to line them up perfectly and curl your natural lashes beforehand. They are super dramatic and perfect for an intense look! They also have a few more styles I’d like to try out at some point. I would definitely recommend these lashes for those who want long falsies! September Makeup Haul (06/10/2018)

So I have some new products to share with you today! I picked these up over the weekend after I went to a vintage fair. I didn’t buy ANYTHING at the fair which was a shame so I decided to get some makeup instead. Some of these are favourites and some are new! I will also be giving a brief review of these products.

So I have 2 NYX products here, as in the Boots in town they finally stock their products! I purchased the Micro Brow Pencil in Ash Brown. Last time I used this I used the shade Taupe but it was a bit too light and I used it up quite quickly because of this. Hopefully this colour is better! I also purchased the Suede lip Pencil in Los Angeles. This is a great colour but the Pencil is very soft and broke the first time I used it annoyingly so go careful. I also bought the Lancôme Teint Idole in 005 which came with two free gifts! A primer and a brush, and I actually like them both! The foundation is one of my favourites ever, it’s so lovely and lasts ages. Lastly I bought the Benefot Bad Gal Bang Mascara which is a new favourite of mine. It creates amazing volume and length! I hope you enjoyed this haul!

Benefit Roller Lash

One great product that I should’ve tried sooner is the Benefit Roller Lash. There have been lots of reviews on this so I will keep it short and simple. I love Benefit products, and have loads of items from their line. The Porefessional primer is one of my everyday favorites, and I love their brand. If you’re starting out with makeup, I would recommend the mini sets, so you get to try a few different items and get to grips with technique.

The Pro’s- My eyelashes are long but not very curly, and grow a little uneven. This helps to curl them upwards, and fans them out towards the outer edge of the eye. It lengthens lashes a lot as it lifts, without having to overwork the product (put loads on and play around with it) It separates the lashes well, as long as applied with a gentle hand! The formula is not too wet or dry in my opinion, which means it doesn’t smudge.

The Con’s- For my lashes, it doesn’t add much volume and they can appear a little thin. This is likely due to the brush style and isn’t really an issue, just something to note for preference purposes. I wouldn’t use this if I was using false lashes as I don’t think my natural lashes would blend in very well.

Overall this is a great product and I would recommend it for length, but for volume try adding another product! I have yet to try it with the Benefit Lash Primer, which may make it even better. I’m glad I bought this (this is the mini version) but don’t know if I would buy the full size, as I’m always trying new mascaras, but I would go back to it! It is definitely unique, and I’m glad to have it in my collection.

17th January Haul

Hey everyone! I had a little shopping trip today that was only partially successful, I think everyone has those days when they get tempted by cheap items that end up not being quite right! Today I bought a top from Fat Face, Benefit Roller Lash (Mini) Sanctuary toner, and a jumper and trousers from H&M. I also got some new work shoes, some plain black converse. I will start by saying the H&M items are not pictured as they weren’t flattering and the material wasn’t the best. The jumper was only £5 and the trousers £4, so I’m not too fussed and will return them soon! This is a shame but it shows trying thins on can save you a returns trip (it was freeeeeezing though!)

The top from Fat Face reminds me or the 70’s ringer t-shirts, with stripes in different colours. I bought it in the Men’s section, as I like the style of the men’s t shirts and it was only £10. The fabric is super soft and thick, so it is a great winter top when layered.

I love the colour of this and like it with jeans and boots! I also think it’d be good with a leather jacket for a layered spring look. I could also wear it in summer with my Levi’s shorts! I also finally bought the Benefit Roller Lash in the mini version, as I’m always rotating through mascaras. I’ve tried it already, and oh wow, it is so unique! Nothing has ever made them so curly! I already had some mascara on though, so I will wear it alone tomorrow so I can do a full review!

I’m also excited to try the toner water! It wasn’t expensiveas it was in the clearance, but felt like tring it! Also pictured are my new shoes. They are super comfy and casual, but will be good for when I’m running about at work, or for just chilling in the evenings.

Fat Face top: £10 (SALE ITEM)
Benefit Roller Lash mini: £9.95
Sanctuary Spa pore refining toner: £1.50 (Clearance)
Black converse: £45
