Cut Crease/Makeup Progress!

Today I wanted to share with you this photo which shows my first EVER cut crease eye look and my latest one. I always found cut creases very hard due to my eye shape and deep crease but they’ve quickly become one of my favourite styles of eyeshadow. In case you don’t know, a cut crease includes creating a sharp line through the crease using a small brush to define or concealer to cut out the lid. You can start with a liner and diffuse it or use concealer to create the shape which is my preferred method.

The first picture was taken 11th May 2017 and the second on the 15th March 2018 so almost a years progress! I’m so pleased with my progress and want to remind you all to practice all the time as much as you can! If you don’t follow my Instagram already it’s madithemermaid by the way.

OOTD: Start of Spring!

This outfit is cosy but still cute and a bit more summery! I got these photos on a day when it was really sunny, before the snow. This is chilled but sort of dressed up and  I was really happy with how it looked, and I thought it would be a great bit of fashion inspiration. Sometimes, it’s so hard to know what to wear in transitional weather, so hopefully, this inspires you. I’m a uni student and planned to wear this to uni but my train got cancelled sooooo I went shopping instead!

The lighting here was so pretty because it was so sunny this day! There was a bit of a breeze but this is a perfect outfit for this kind of day. You could always add a scarf or hat if you wanted to.

Here are some extra close-ups of the outfit! I’m in love with this top, and so need to wear it more. If you wanted to make this outfit, even more spring/summery then you could wear some blue ripped up jeans. I hope you enjoyed this post, please tag me in your outfit posts! I love fashion and I’m so happy to be doing more posts like this!

The Ordinary Coverage Foundation Review!

So this Foundation is a super hyped and talked about product which means I HAD to test it out! I’ve filmed a review video with a wear test which is up on my YouTube but I’ll recap some pros and cons down below.

PROS: Good colour, very neutral toned. Smooth application and blends fairly well. Not shiny or oily in any way, has a soft matte finish, super affordable and accessible!

CONS: Not the best wear time, can look a bit dry on my skin type, best with a more hydrating Primer.

OOTD: Cold Pub Night Out

So today I have a cosy but sort of dressed up outfit of the day for you! I could only get one picture but hey ho! For this night, I was going to The Hobbit pub which is themed around everything Tolkien. There’s also some live music and a definitel rock style atmosphere. Therefore I went for something kinda dressed up but with a grungy side, which is a look I definitely go for on nights like this. I’m also wearing a brand new belt which I love!

I just wore some plain black Western style boots with this look but you could definitely wear different shoes. This was also a super cold night so probably best to wear a bigger coat if you’re sat outside. I was indoors all night so it was ok!

Artist Couture Gold Digger Review and Swatches

So as you probably know I’m a HUGE highlighter junkie. I love collecting different types and testing new ones because to me they’re all so unique! This highlighter is new to me and from the brand Artist Couture which you can now get on Beauty Bay. I’m so glad these are now available in the UK because I’ve wanted one for sooooo long! I originally wanted a different shade, Illuminati, but it was sold out at the time. I opted for Gold Digger which is a gorgeous light gold toned shade. These are loose powders so very unique and different, I apply mine with a Smashbox fan brush.

This powder is very finely milled and therefore doesn’t emphasise texture. It blends really softly and can look blinding or natural depending on your desired look. I really love the colour and definitely want to try more. I find the packaging a little messy but hey, that happens with any loose products! (Maybe I’m just messy!!)

I would totally recommend this, especially for fair skin!

GET IT HERE ON BEAUTY BAY!
